Mount Kilimanjaro: a Complete Climbing Guide

JHJabari Hassan8 June 202614 min read

Seven routes, eight days on the mountain, and the honest summit-rate data nobody on Instagram talks about.

Choosing your route

Machame and Lemosho are the two we recommend for first-time climbers. Lemosho has the best success rate; Machame is shorter and slightly cheaper.

How fit do you need to be?

Fit enough to walk six to seven hours a day for a week, carrying a daypack. Aerobic fitness matters far less than mental endurance and altitude tolerance.
